Quiet Haven in midst of Cramlington, recommend this place
My suspicions were aroused when upon arrival I was asked if I had "booked for breakfast?" Duh, it's a B&B! I was then taken to my room. This is clearly work in progress but in my opinion they seem to be trying to do things on the cheap, as standards of finish indicate.Firstly, the bathroom: I'm 6' 2" and maybe a tad overweight but when I was greeted by a quadrant shower with a 2' radius and an entrance measuring 13" having a shower was clearly going to be a challenge . There were two part used bottles of shower gel and shampoo. Was this left by the previous guest or the hotels attempt at hospitality?The walls comprised panels of mosaic tiles that weren't aligned and had not been cleaned off from the installation glues. Instead of looking good it looked cheap and unprofessional. The toilet roll holder fell off the wall as it had been fixed to the wall panel with two 10mm self tapping screws.The bathroom light was a treat! Operated by switching on a 15 amp switched socket outlet (see pic) which was within arms length of the tap on the wash basin!Secondly, the room was huge, sparse and clinical and illuminated by a twin tube 6' fluorescent fitting, requiring sunglasses inside! There was a new wardrobe, chest of drawers, cupboard and bedside cabinets but the matress was one of those soft cheap innerspring jobs. The bed had a metallic frame that creaked and gave the impression it was about to collapse. Thirdly, the carpet... I should say carpets because it was made up of several pieces joined together and tacked to the floor. I stood on several tack heads. Fourthly, there was one large window adorned simply with white vertical blinds. No curtains. Given that the sun rises at 4am this would have meant an early wake up for me so I set about doing what I could to block out the light, using the towels, which also doubled as an exfoliating tool, and whatever I could hang in the window void. Finally, I made it through the night, had my squeeze-in shower and went for my "continental" breakfast. I'm not sure which continent it was based on but it comprised simply cereals, bread, juice, yoghurt and fruit. There was an offer of eggs so I leapt at the choice of poached, which I must say were reasonable.There was also tea, coffee (instant), and milk.The one member of staff with whom I dealt was at all times very polite.All in all, I would have expected more for my 50 but maybe standards are too high?
Perfect location for what we needed. Staff were lovely, they couldn't have been more helpful. Price felt a little high in hindsight but still cheaper than the big chain hotels. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice.
Great place to stay
Very poor don't feal like staff were very nice as I shared an expiriance on trip advisor and was asked to take it down but carnt and they keep saying take it down if that's my opinion and he said it affect buisnuse me and my partner passed last night and it was busy as usual so don't think I be back in a hurry their as I shared breckfast was poor as paying guests u expect a bit of a better breckfast not hot dogs not every one likes that and the way that they used to do it was better and that the room wasn't very clean hair in the shower and the bed had a stain on it and as I astmer the smell in the rooms are far to storing with air freshener very bad expiriance walls are very thin and if people are loude it wakes u up very easy keep asking me to take the comment down but if I didn't share my expiriance how would they improve taking away the stains on the walls and cleaning it up a little better and improving on the brecksast then me and my partner had to lie and put up a good comment which we felt bullied in to by the company and I felt very hurt and intimidated by them shouting I spent hundreds of pounds their in the past but standards slipped so bad hardly anster their phones when we call we callabout 2 to 3 times before an anster not happy with my recent expiriancea of this place very disappointed
